surprise mail

i didn't go to school today because i had headache and seriously didn't feel like going. it's so difficult to skip school here because normally can only skip when you're sick. so normally everyone will be in school except when they're sick.

so i rested and got a letter from my host mum. she passed it to me in my room. i thought it's recipes and instant rendang stuff from mum. when i opened it i was so surprised when i saw notes from friends wishing me happy birthday and all. i was happy and touched when reading the notes.

thank you those who took some time to write the notes to me(they're very nice). =D

my birthday

today is 9th of oct! my birthday! it's suppose to be a really happy thing for me but guess what...

when i went downstairs for breakfast, my host parents only said good morning and nothing else. i was upset, omg they forgot my birthday!! then i try to make them remember by asking my host dad what day is it and he said today is 9th. okay it didn't work. when my host mum came i asked her what is the date today? she happily said today is october 9th and full stop. i was so disappointed, upset and moody(cried a little).

i went to school but still don't seem to forget that my host family actually forgot my birthday when i have been living with them for the past half year. how sad. i went to school and got many wishes from my friends,even from those that i didn't expect from. many of them knew it's my birthday though i didn't tell them, i guess words spread really fast. some friends bought a drink for me, gave me sweets and the guys bought food(some hard bread with sugar, really yummy) for me. i think they are really sweet, it's the thought that counts right. some friends said will give me presents and cards next week. thank you for those who wished me in facebook too.

i told my friends that i think my host family forgot my birthday but most of them said maybe they will give me a surprise when i go home after club practice. they said japanese like to plan surprises. i didn't quite believe it but had a little hope in believing it because i wanted to believe it.

then i went for club practice and got many wishes too. i got a present from a close friend, it's a panda mug! it's so cute! almost at the end of the practice, saxophone part members played birthday song for me. i was seriously so touched. it was nice to hear a birthday song dedicated to me from my good friends playing my favourite instrument. i think it was really special.

then when home, i was seriously hoping they remember my birthday or have planned a surprise for me. when i went back and it's normal at home. host mum greeted me and that's it. my heart dropped. they really forgot my birthday!! then i asked my host mum what day is it today? then only she remembered it's my birthday, at that time i already bursted into tears. a serious cry. my host mum came to me a hugged me while i was crying but my cry couldn't stop. then she went and tell host dad and then they said let's go to chinese restaurant to eat to celebrate my birthday.

the chinese food was great! reminds me of the chinese food in malaysia. i can't believe i had to cry on my birthday. anyway, tomorrow im going to my friend's house to bake my birthday cake with my close friends. yay! it reminds me of baking cake with my close friends last time in malaysia. memories~

autumn

it's my first post in japan. i wonder anyone would read it since it's been a long time since i blogged.

nobody's at home now so i can use the computer longer ;) it's so cold now. it's autumn now but i haven't seen the red and yellow leaves yet. i can't wait to see them! =) i can't believe there's 4 months left before i go back to malaysia. there's a part of me that feels like going back and another part don't. anyway i just want to enjoy the 4 months left here.

in these past 6 months i've been through a lot, im sure i've changed too but i myself don't seem to realise it. i've made many friends who are from all over the world, it's really interesting and fun. oh and of course i've made many japanese friends too. lol.

i want to travel around japan but it cost a lot. im eager to go to tokyo and okinawa!! osaka, kobe, nara and nagoya too. but they are too too far from where im staying. =( so maybe i'll travel to somewhere nearer to my place. by the way i am staying in onomichi, hiroshima. it's a small town and it takes me about 1 hr and 45 minutes by train to get to hiroshima city. it's really far. it is surrounded by many small islands. there's a port here too so i always get to see the sea. it's nice. im living in the centre of onomichi. there's nothing much here, pretty small. this place is really famous for ramen. very delicious(oishii)!

i will try to learn some japanese and perubian cooking before i go back to malaysia. sometimes i offer to cook at home and my host mum actually said my cooking is good and im creative in terms of what sauce and ingredients to put. sad to say that i still can't eat fish even though i tried hard to. i can't eat sashimi too. my host family will open a company on 24th of october. my host mother will be teaching spanish and host dad will be doing international consultation.

AFS office..OU..Driving

Ikh said want to go OU but i had to hand in my passport to AFS office in DJ. So he said can send me there. So went there then after that we went to OU. After that he taught me parking at the car park in OU. Then drove on the main road and housing area. He freaked out when i was driving. My instructor, sister and Jit also freaked out when i drive. I have no idea why they freaked out. They said it's because i look tense when im driving. I can't help it la. I don't know how to relax when im driving. But my driving is not so bad la. Im not really used to it yet that's why. Im gonna practise a lot whenever i have the chance. Im getting my P license tomorrow. Whee! XD But my sister said i can't drive alone when im here because i don't really have much time to get used to driving. Im leaving in another 15 days. =O To those who want me to drive them around, AHEM AHEM(you know who you are)please don't have second thoughts -.-. Of course i will train myself well before i drive you all around. That have to be a year later. Don't know if you guys can wait so long. Be patient kay?! When i come back you all can drive me around first. You all will be professional drivers by that time. Right?

Farewell Dinner 1

Yesterday i went to Curve to eat dinner with ex japanese class friends. It's my farewell dinner. Supposedly Curve but we ate in Ikano. Kang sisters had to leave early because they had to go for another dinner. Ebi didn't turn up because she said there were kittens in her car enjin and she need to take some time to get them out. I laughed when i was reading that message because it didn't make sense at all. How did the kittens get in there?! So hilarious! XD Yasai, Fune and me went there then we were so clueless because we didn't know where the teachers were. None of us saved one of the teachers number. Yasai asked the teacher for her number but then told us she didn't save it. But later on she found out that she saved it in her sister's hp. -.-' Then we found out that the teachers went there already but they were halfway eating when we found them. I don't think it's a very successful farewell dinner. Haha. But i think it's okay.

Retake driving test..

Today woke up super early again for driving test. Yesterday i couldn't sleep AT ALL!! I was very nervous and worried yesterday night! It was 10 times worse than 1st test. The feeling was overwhelming. Because i could still sleep the night before my 1st test. I went to bed at 12am but couldn't sleep so i went online at 1.30am for awhile. Then today went for driving test. I was nervous all the way until it was my turn to drive. The reason i was sooooo nervous is because i was afraid that i might fail again. And i really hate that feeling. I passed the slope. It wasn't smooth sailing because my car died after the slope, when my car was coming down the slope. I don't know if the examiner saw but he let me pass anyway. Thank God!! Obviously i passed parking and 3 pt turn too. XD

After that Xin came to my house because we're suppose to go to Tourism Msia office in PWTC to get our souvenirs. I asked her if her mum could fetch us there and somehow she told me that i said my sister can fetch us there(i never said that). So she came to my house and we got no transport to go to PWTC. I said i can drive if there's a car at home(i was too excited to drive). Too bad there weren't any car at home. Anyway she didn't trust my driving. So bad. =( Then she called Kevin to drive us there because there weren't any other solution. So Kevin being the VERY nice guy came right away to fetch us there. THANK YOU SO MUCH KEVIN!! =D

I said i knew the way and they doubted me. =( They'd rather follow the signboard than me. Eventually they followed my way anyway and we still reached there! This proved that i was right! It's just that i think MAYBE we used the longer way there. FYI my direction is not bad okay!(unlike somebody ;P) We got lots of souvenirs! And the souvenirs are actually quite nice. I didn't expect them to be so nice.

Movie with Daniel(church friend)

Daniel and i went for a movie today. We watched The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. The movie was not bad la. The movie was very long, 2 and a half hours. Before going to ou i received a message from receptionist from driving agency saying that i can retake my driving test the next day. Instantly i felt shocked and worried. I never thought that i would be taking my driving test the next day. Because she msg me so last minute. I was thinking of taking one more lesson before retaking the test but it's too late. And then i was thinking whether or not to retake tomorrow because i wasn't ready at all. It happened too sudden. But im going anyway.

Shop for my host family

I went to KL with my mum today to shop for presents for my host family. It's been a long long time since i step foot in KL. We went to a few shops there then went to Petaling Street and then last stop was Central Market. I bought batik for my host mum and host sisters. I haven't bought anything for my host dad and host friends yet. So im going to Central Market again next time. And i bought my traditional wear too. I was like a tourist taking pictures everywhere i go. I need some pictures for my presentation.

I FAILED!!!

Today i had my driving test. I went to William Lee Agency first then a van fetched us there. I saw a few friends there, Ching Yung and his friend(Kian Min), Shenay, Seng Ju and Hui Ern. All of us are from the same agency who took the driving test today.

ARGH!..I hate the fact that i failed. I failed slope. I really hate the car i was using. It's like damn old, can be antique car already. When i went in the car i was dumbfounded, because the meter and everything were so different from the car i used during driving lessons. VERY DIFFERENT. It's like the oldest car i've ever used in my life. I was stunned for a few seconds then started driving. I was very nervous when i was doing slope. Unfortunately the examiner was so irritating, he kept asking me to jalan jalan. I guess i was just a little slow la. Eesh, i was like damn nervous already and he kept saying that so it made me felt worse. So i made a mistake and my car slide down. I couldn't believe it after i did that. I thought i would pass. I was quite pissed after that but now cooled down already.

I bribed on the road. So i passed on the road. But i think i could pass without bribing because a lot of them passed without bribing. We waited for so long and it was like a desert there. So freaking hot man! I never want to go back there again but unfortunately i have to. -.-'

We went back to William Lee Agency around 4 something. Then i walked around DU to find something to eat because i skipped my lunch. And my dad asked me to wait for half an hour or more. I bought a bread and then it started to rain. So i walked in the rain to ICLS which i think is a safe place to wait there. I waited there for my dad to fetch me home. I reached home around 5 something.

AIYA!

I had driving lesson today for 3 hours, 7am-10am. I drove to Batu Caves again. Tomorrow's my driving test! When i was driving i kept talking almost like non-stop to my instructor. Then my instructor told me to concentrate and talk less when im driving. I said okay then i started talking again. And he said fine lah, i'll listen to you talk. Lol! When i make tiny mistakes then i would say 'AIYA'! I think i made a lot of tiny mistakes so i kept saying aiya..aiya..aiya! I kept saying it until it made my instructor laughed hard. He always laugh at whatever i say. I just realised that he actually has a sense of humour too. He's not my original instructor. So i have 2 instructors. I came back and slept from 1pm until 4.30pm. Then i woke up and ate a little. I skipped my lunch for the very first time(i think). I was too tired. Im still in a dilemma whether or not to bribe. Sigh.

Happy Valentine's Day

I went out with 3 buddies today. Yen, Yeang and Ikh. We watched Valkyrie. I think the movie is okay only. It's not really the type of movie i normally watch. I don't really fancy that kind of movie. After movie we went to Haagen-dazs to eat ice cream. Then Yen had to go home early because she had driving. Later Ikh went home too. So Yeang and me went to visit Yin. Her working place is really nice. My dad came very late because he went jogging so Yeang teman me. We sat down and talked, catch up on things. Then went home around 7pm. And that's how i spent my Valentine's day.

What a coincidence..

On wednesday i had my 4 hours driving lesson straight. Started from 7am to 11am. I had to wake up so early, so i slept quite early the night before. My instructor came to pick me up and then went to pick up another student. When we were at the student's house i was surprised to see Seng Ju there. So he is my instructor's student too. I didn't know we have the same instructor. Then my instructor fetched us to office and then i got into another car. I had another instructor because my original instructor wasn't free to teach me. So i drove to Batu Caves. Seng Ju also went there. And both of us will be having our driving test in Batu Caves on tuesday. Oh and when we tried Jalan 1 and 2(test on the road) my car was behind his. I think it's because both of our instructors wanted to go together that's why. Then his car went too fast and i couldn't catch up because they were a lot of cars at the junction there. So his car just went out of sight. When i was doing parking i actually couldn't really remember. I didn't drive for 2 weeks already. When driving back from Batu Caves i was so much better at driving much much better than before because before that i was quite bad. I didn't really do anything wrong this time. I have my last driving lesson on monday for 3 hours then i'll be sitting for my driving test on tuesday. Wish me luck! =O

Beginner 2 class ended

Today it was my last day in ICLS. I had my Beginner 2 test today. I passed with flying colours although it wasn't as good as my results in Beginner 1 test. I got 90. Not too bad huh? Oh and i got my certificate! Whee! It's much nicer compared to my school's certificates.

Some of them kept asking me why am i not continuing Intermediate 1 class. Actually there are a few reasons why i stop: 1. I don't want to bother my dad to fetch me. 2. I have to go for driving lessons because my driving test is next tuesday. 3. I hate to wait so long for my dad to come and pick me up. 4. I have lots of stuff to prepare when i go to Japan eg. presentation, speech, learn cooking and stuff to bring there. After class i had to wait for so long at the centre as usual(30 minutes or more) for my dad to come and pick me up. I called him so many times and he didn't pick up his phone, when he did he told me he was still in Shah Alam. So i was sick and tired of waiting so i told him im walking home. The weather was freaking hot but i walked anyway. So i walked to roundabout there then mum called me and said gonna call taxi to pick me up. I was sweating so much and then i still had to wait for quite some time for the taxi to come. In the end i went back home safely.

Farewell For Bi Bian

After class finish which was at 3pm, then Fune drove us to ou to watch 'The Wedding Game' with Bi Bian. The movie was at 3.10pm. When we went in the cinema it was already started. The movie was quite funny but i expected it to be funnier. But overall was okay. After movie we went to K box(cubicle box) to sing. The others didn't want to sing. So they watched me sing while camwhoring in the 'box'. The box was pathetically small. We had to squeeze in it. Then we played foosball and pool. It was Bi Bian's first time playing pool. Bi Bian and Yasai didn't know how to play pool so i taught them how to play. Bi Bian first time hitting the ball and her white ball was suppose to go in but she put her hand at the hole and blocked the white ball from going into the hole. And the white ball hit other balls and a few balls moved from their original position. We were laughing our heads off! And i asked her if she knew the rules of the game. Then she said she knew but she still did it anyway. I wonder why. Lol! Then there's Yasai. Another funny incident happened. She sat on the pool table and hit the ball because she couldn't reach it. And guess what? Her white ball jumped over the other balls. It was very hilarious! Oh and FYI i didn't teach them to do those things. Blocking the balls from going into the whole and sitting on the pool table to play. -.- They have their own very 'creative' way of playing pool. Haha! In conclusion, i had so much fun today!
